A poem inspired by Korean artist Shim Moon-Seup’s painting:

one day, I chose blue

not for any reason

but the feeling

of so many memories

wrapped in the sea

and sky—

from the most intense

hue, to faded light

perhaps it wasn’t

even a choice, it was

simple and right
